The Little Apple Soccer Club was formed in 1991 by the inspiration of Dale & Lisa Thies who had just moved to Manhattan from Columbia, Missouri.  At the time only recreational soccer was available to the kids.  Their commitment to the game took Manhattan soccer to a new level and made it competitive with the best programs in the state and region.  Thank you to the Thies's and all those who have carried the banner of LASC since.  

 



Jim Braun

It was Fall 1995 when Judy Hughey convinced  Jim to coach the U8Boys, LASC Warriors.  2 years later he  assisted October Lauffer in the inaugural year of the U8 Boys, Sparta team.  A year later, he then started the U8 Boys Saints.  He continued as the head coach of the saints and continued as trainer and co coach of Team Sparta and Warriors.  Eventually Jim passed the Warriors head coaching duties over to Brett.   He also mentored Brian Nelson as they started the U8 Fire team the following year.  The above picture is of the U8 Fire team.  Other than his coaching responsibilities Jim was responsible for creating and maintaining LASC's first website www.youthsoccer.net.  On March 23, that website was  diverted to our current site after serving LASC for 8 year.  Congratulations Jim on being the 4th inductee into the LASC Hall of Fame.

LASC Mission Statement
It is the mission of the Little Apple Soccer Club to build in our young athletes the technical skills, tactical understanding, strength of character and team concepts essential to compete effectively at the highest level of competitive soccer.  To this end we are committed to providing teach child with a positive soccer experience, by promoting a love for the game, the spirit of sportsmanship and healthy competition.
